I'm the "Power Nazi" in my house.
I turn everything off.

but i've cut the bills by 30%
water is expensive here.
i think they charge by the drop.
We live near the ocean with no fresh water reserves.
Our water is piped in from 160 miles away.
the money that they spent on the pipeline,(including all the "studies") could have been spent on 3 or 4 desalinization plants and ended all our water worries.
stupid gubmint.
enough ranting, i'm on a gubmint 'puter.
