As a (dormant) motorcyclist and neighbor to the Hells Angels of Oakland, I have come to recognize that sector of the biker population which is more bike fetishist than the other 98% (99%?).
I have never owned a vehicle that I didn't see as only transportation (double negative!). I have had many bikes and cars in 40 years on the road, rarely washed and never waxed them.
Just keep them in safe running condition with a clean windshield. But I look forward to getting my 1981 BMW R65 back together (blown tranny) and maybe getting a new Honda CRF230M late next year.
