Current is limited by the weakest (smallest) cell, right?

I don't know 100% if this would work, but maybe you could "fix" the chipped cells to bring them up to snuff:

If you can figure out how to cut or break the cells straight, you could use that left over chipped one, split it and then split off the chipped portion of the cell you used. Parallel the two unchipped halves and then put them back in series.

You might have enough left over to do the other chipped one.
