I only ever have "active" vehicles on my policy. If they're parked for any length of time (except my "daily", which I don't drive on a daily basis), they're off, but i keep my plate. As long as I keep insurance at all, PA is none the wiser, and doesn't ask for the plates back, so I can have 12 registered vehicles and only pay insurance for one, although legally, the other 11 aren't registered unless they're insured.

My ins company is OK with me switching vehicles alot, as long as it's not a daily thing.
