I just realized -- if you left it in there, you would just have to press the black button on the door handle (unless it goes to sleep after a while...)
It was just strange to decide where to stow it. I'd leave it in my work bag or coat pocket if you could open the trunk without the fob or opening the car door. The TSX has a hidden button up above the license plate, to open the trunk if the doors are unlocked.
