My oil is about 4K miles into it and is still golden-brown. It's not pretty like it is when you pour it in, but it's definitely not black. It's darker, but not black.

I doubt it but that is why it's good to do an analysis to get a good base line. Check out these
forums. I've seen guys go to 10k on dino oil. Analysis cost a little more but once you get your driving style down it's a no brainer. I think you would be surprised how long your oil can really go before a change. Someone can chime in but I think in europe 1 year or 15k is pretty standard.
