Years later - yes, in my opinion $500. is too much for something that breaks down in a week. My City-EL brought $5000. when I sold it and snapped the serpentine belt to the axle immediately. I was moving when I sold it but the new owner never contacted me. I would have junked it and demanded my money back if I was him!
