My dear grandpa used to tell a story of how in the mid 70's he and some friends of his decided to carpool with another fellow that had just purchased a VW Beetle.
Everyday, the guy would brag and brag about how good that his gas mileage was compared to theirs.
Weeks went by, and he had hardly noticed any change on his fuel guage !

Brag, brag, brag, the bragging continued on and on.


Little did he know ... my grandfather had been adding a small amount to his tank all along.

I miss my 'grampa' and that sense of humour.
