The 240d was the first diesel we had that didnt smoke. Its the strangest thing. I know the newer ones have a smoke map in the electronic injectors, but the old vws we had the golf, rabbit smoked as much as the big trucks when taking off. Infact my father use to take off in 2nd gear when some jerk in a motor cycle got behind him and would race their motor.
I use to have the role of cleaning the windows and I used the washer thingie that you see at gas stations to clean the black off the rear of the car.
