Actually by looking you cannot tell if the 02 is bad. Mine throws a code. By looking at that cat those tiny holes look to be plugged up. Look if there are part numbers on the sensor it might be just not quite the right one. See vlx build page #7. It needs to be a p09. some say to heat them with a torch to 600 deg and use compressed air ive never had any luck with any method of cleaning. You still havent done a vacuum test it will tell you if that cat is plugged. I get 42 mpg with no sensor.
