After 3 months of driving on the new engine, I can say that I am very happy with the swap. Power band after 2700 rpm is far better than th D16Y7. Gas mileage is about 34-35 avg combine. My personal best on a single tank for regular commute 75% hwy at 65mph+ traffic is 38mpg. I am guessing if I go on a all highway long trip, I can get over 40 which is what I was expecting.
Long story short, if you are considering a HX/ D16Y5 swap, expect 35mpg and a lot more fun than the D16Y7. Make sure you use the proper wiring to safe time and headache. Good luck!!!
