I used to always be covered in engine grime; always felt lousy, and was sick a lot. When I didn't have to wrench I'd feel better; now I know to keep myself clean and I'll feel better.
It is just all just part of admitting that all of the stuff in a car is dangerous. I have 2 friends who regularly wash their hands in Gasoline/ kerosene; 2 of them have already had cancer. Do the Math.
