I tweaked the cam timing today, moving the cam chain one tooth on the sprocket. it puts the valve timing almost exactly the same amount advanced as it was retarded. I put it back together and fired it up. there was an immediate improvement. the bike had been having a very difficult time with cold starts. this time with the enrichment circuit on it fired right up and idled evenly. warmed up to operating temp and closed the starting circuit. idled smoothly, and revved evenly. as a side note, the exhaust note was deeper, and sounds much better now.
