I Hit 100 MPG! (1987 Honda Elite 150 Scooter)

I've owned my 1987 Honda Elite 150 Scooter for 3+ years and always averaged around 70 to 75 mpg, but this year I decided to do a few things to improve my mileage.

  • First thing was to change the spark plug to a NGK Iridium Plug,
  • 2nd, I changed the air filter,
  • 3rd thing I did was bumped the tire pressures to the max rated on the bike and added 2 psi,
  • 4th thing I did was to install a bypass switch to allow the bike to be started in-the-fly, so that I did not have to press the rear brake to start the scoot
  • and FINALLY, no more FOT (full open throttle) unless absolutely necessarily.
I have to say, going from 70.7 mpg to 100 mpg is pretty good if you ask me

Used 1.01 gallons for 101 miles

my details are on Fuelly under username vfrjim
