You are of course going to flat black them ...of course.
I might suggest trimming the front edge of the skirt so that it flexes outward when you hit something low, versus tearing off. ( angle it or round it off )

I'll have to wait for the temps to warm up before I can paint. I had to cut off material twice before I could make it out of the driveway
