Have you considered installing seat heaters? They are much more efficient at providing warmth than heating the whole cabin, although they do nothing to defog the windshield or warm the hands. Seat heaters are relatively easy to install and consume as few as 60 watts. Just running the Prius blower motor consumes more than 60 watts!

I don't think I'll ever go without seat heaters again. Not only because of the comfort it affords, but also because of the efficiency of providing direct warmth to the body.
