I have a stroker 1776 sitting on the bench, built to the original Jon Karcey specs. (It's been on that bench a while) I wanted to link to the original VW Greats article but the trail has gone cold at Southernvolksfolks.com. Long story short, I used big valve heads thinking it would be propane-fueled truck engine, while HVW went with fuel injuction heads for the smaller intake valves. But I did find this:
