Funny story. In the early 70's I had a Triumph. Thought it would be a good idea to carry some spares. So had point, plugs, condenser and a fan belt. Sure enough one night about midnight I hear this loud bang. Investigation revealed the fan belt broke, clean break not worn. Go to put the new belt on, it doesn't fit. Carried that belt for I don't know how long and it doesn't fit.
So if your going to carry spares make sure they are correct.
