I'm not so up-to-date when it comes to batteries cost, and it's probably way cheaper there in the U.S.A. than here in Brazil, but since you would be able to avoid an oversized battery in order to get the higher capacity you're looking for it still sounds advantageous. The overall weight savings considering the whole vehicle might sound negligible at first, but that would still be an improvement.
