I spend a fair amount of time (perhaps too much) on a bicycling forum, and when you scan people's signatures apologizing for missing pictures, you realize it's a recurring theme: AOL, Comcast, Webshots, and now Photobucket. People are quick to suggest alternatives like imgur, flickr, etc, but not as quick to realize that theirs might be the next to pull a Martin Shkreli move.
It's direct attachments for me from here on out, even if it doesn't give as much flexibility as third-party sharing did.
