Where in California? It's a big place, you know. If you're in the LA Basin, the Bay Area, or even Sacramento, you might find public transportation. But in the Mojave, the Sierra, the North Coast, or the "Empty Quarter" between Susanville and Alturas? (Neither of which exactly qualify as metropolitan areas, FTM :-))
