Most econoboxes are not satisfying at all to drive. But anyway, the smallest vehicle with automatic transmission that I ever drove was the Jeep Renegade.

For many customers who look at the least expensive brand-new car, and are presumably looking out for something that won't require too much maintenance expenses, reliability is a more valuable asset than some fancy trims or all the bells and whistles.
