I have a 2006 Highlander Hybrid AWD and it is surprisingly fast! Toyota purposely tuned these vehicles to still be useful tow vehicles that were also capable of respectable economy. A V6 engine combined with electric motors front and back results in a vehicle that does zero to 60 in the low 7's while still getting mpg numbers in the mid to high twenties. If I baby the thing I break into the thirties.

Using one of these old hybrid SUV's would be a great way to mix economy with performance in a classic Franken-vehicle like this! Very cool build!

Steve
