As long as there's Bluetooth and a volume / next track button on the wheel, I'm fine. I haven't bought music for years, preferring instead to listen to the radio as the CD era started dying out... but thanks to streaming apps like Spotify, I now have several playlists stored on my phone. Just a quick bit of setting up before a trip and I don't have to fiddle with anything afterwards.

Phone navigation apps, however, that's a good reason to have an infotainment screen.
