If you know you don't need to make any pieces 8 feet long, have them cut it in half at the shop. I'm sure they'll give you one cut for free, and then you'll have two 4x4' sheets instead of one 4x8. At that point, you should be able to stand them vertically behind the front seats and lean them against the back seat without blocking the rear window.
