Heh. I love than video.

But why NOT form panels that way? Bamboo-pulp and recycled paper into a sturdy shell, mix flame-retardant chemicals into the glue, light epoxy final coat and paint...

Would it really be much flimsier than carbon-fiber, cheap thin steel or fiberglass mat? I mean, modern cars are designed with crumple zones, so I don't see a huge difference. You'd have to re-engineer the underlying frame a touch but it might be worth it.
