But.. it wasn't your car.. it was your friend's car, with your friend's engine, that was worn in with your friend's driving.. YOUR car didn't go from 47 to 30... YOU went from a car that got 47mpg to one that got 30mpg.

I'm sure the ethanol didn't help, but I'm also reasonably sure that it being introduced was coincidental to your MPG drop being so extravagant.

That said, good story! I've never personally wanted to cow-a-car, but I've seen a few like that.

Oh - I know what a Geo Spectrum is. (IIRC, it's a Pontiac Sunburst as well.)
