Lots of backroad driving with engine off coasting. Generally using 5th gear from 35mph to 55mph then coast, shutting down the engine. I chose my routes to minimize stop signs and traffic. While driving in cities, I did pulse and glide when possible, often from 25mph to 45mph using 4rth and 5th gear. Otherwise chugged along at 35 to 40mph in 5th gear. Almost always driving slower than the other traffic. The motor has a lot of torque so I push the vehicle along at low rpms.
Acceleration: At 30mph, shift to 4rth. At 40mph, shift to 5th.
Hold speed on level ground: 4rth gear: 25mph. 5th gear: 35mph.
I have a very good area to drive in, lots of country roads with no traffic, reasonable drivers that don't get pissed off about slow speeds, lots of loooooong country roads with no stop signs, some hills but not too many.
