Fill date Distance Fill amount Price MPG Details
2009-10-11 427.1 mi. 14.21 US gal $2.719 30.06 US The last warm-weather tank, and just maybe the ForSalebaru's last tank under my ownership.
2009-09-18 429.9 mi. 13.92 US gal $2.779 30.88 US I <3 my engine kill switch.

This was not my most accurate fill. I had a body compressing the passenger side suspension, and the lot was not level.

I'm actually disappointed, since the ScanGauge was telling me I was getting >30mpg every day, and sometimes approaching 33mpg.
2009-08-23 266.9 mi. 7.225 US gal $2.829 36.94 US The return trip from AMEC. What I'm burning here is a 50/50 mix of Ethanol-free and regular gas, cruise set to 68-72mph, 50% grille block, A/C set to "low" for half of the trip.

The MPG reported here is an overestimate, because the tank was filled very, very full at the last stop. It's probably more like 35mpg.
2009-08-23 104.6 mi. 2.231 US gal $2.799 46.88 US AMEC Economy Run III. P&G, 70% grille block, tires inflated higher than usual, average speed around 35mpg. 104 miles and only a handful of stop signs. ScanGauge reports 50.0mpg, which was my goal.
2009-08-23 237 mi. 7.696 US gal $2.799 30.8 US Topped off at the ethanol-free Fairway Oil, while an AMEC official watched.

This tank was 100% highway, cruise control at 74mph, no A/C. Early morning temperatures in the 60's, Fahrenheit.
2009-07-30 358.2 mi. 13.37 US gal $2.689 26.79 US
2009-07-06 352.2 mi. 12.98 US gal $2.769 27.13 US
2009-06-11 392.5 mi. 14.62 US gal $2.699 26.85 US Don't go to the Shamrock at Kensington & Eggert in Buffalo. The parking lot is not level, the staff is not interested in you, and the software is not user friendly. The lot was slanted such that I probably overfilled the tank.

Bicycle season is upon us.
2009-05-19 356.4 mi. 12.65 US gal $2.419 28.17 US
2009-05-01 264.1 mi. 10.27 US gal $2.199 25.72 US Eventaully, I found I had a malfunctioning ignition coil. Went through ten spark plugs during this tank, while I was supposed to be moving instead of carfixen. I hypermiled the hell out of the Subaru, because its peak HP was somewhere around 35. 45mph on the throughway, major DWB, the guy behind me can wait.
2009-04-21 231.8 mi. 8.579 US gal 27.02 US fuelling error - tank's not full. This and the next tank combined are correct, but each is a guesstimate by itself.
2009-04-13 358 mi. 13.39 US gal $2.109 26.74 US
2009-03-31 376 mi. 13.59 US gal $2.159 27.67 US
2009-03-19 340.6 mi. 12.71 US gal 26.8 US
2009-03-04 335.7 mi. 13.12 US gal $2.099 25.59 US Back to the daily grind. Spring is right around the corner, but it's not here yet.
2009-02-13 224 mi. 9.64 US gal $2.099 23.24 US End road trip, 100% highway @74mph, with an approximate airspeed of 125mph (into a wicked wind, but hey, I have a schedule to keep).
2009-02-11 377.6 mi. 13.34 US gal $2.099 28.31 US Road trip! 74mph, hilly. Mild p&g as hills allowed.
2009-02-11 372.3 mi. 12.3 US gal $1.929 30.27 US Road trip! 100% highway, 74mph.
2009-02-01 379 mi. 14.63 US gal $1.959 25.91 US At this point, I'm confused by the upward trend in my fuel mileage, since all I've done since I started logging is add a grille block and slowed from 70mph to 64mph.
2009-01-17 345.9 mi. 13.92 US gal $1.889 24.85 US Cold snap! Also, I'm not yet convinced my rising mpg is a trend.
2009-01-02 352.6 mi. 14.43 US gal $1.749 24.44 US Installed Scangauge II halfway through the tank. Let the tires down to 35PSI for winter.
2008-12-18 325.8 mi. 13.86 US gal $1.899 23.51 US Partially on the new commute: 4mi @ 69mph, 6mi @ 44mph with some traffic.
2008-11-28 341 mi. 14.8 US gal $2.289 23.04 US My old city driving commute. Top speed: 39mph. Tank lasted about a month.
