2009-10-19 460.3 mi. 10.96 US gal $2.419 42 US Weather is getting colder. This is definitely going to kill the mileage soon. I have yet to change my brakes, I am such a slacker. Oh well, I have other things that are more pressing like bills and rent that require my attention. I will have to get to those before winter though. I still am using EOC, but it is looking like I may have to halt that practice as winter approaches. The car NEEDS to warm up before I get to work, and it can't do it with the engine off, and a block heater is not an option. I am not looking forward to more snow, we got a taste earlier this week. Going to have to fight this crap again for another five month stretch.
2009-10-03 466.8 mi. 10.47 US gal $2.459 44.58 US My, how cold it is getting now. I am still in need of changing the brakes, hopefully before winter hits. Mostly driving to work and back, and to NH once during the tank. I can't wait for spring... God it feels like we missed the whole summer. Well, now is the time for tough skins and no whining, it wastes too much energy!
2009-09-15 451.2 mi. 10.81 US gal $2.659 41.74 US Citgo near across from Sterilite, pump #4. Not much to report, just work. May go to Hawkinsville to run a trial at the end of the month. Need to change oil soon, 6K on this sump. I need to do this soon so that I can go through the winter. The weather is getting colder, and I am running again. Two miles a day, Monday through Friday. I feel great, I think I may just have to up it to three miles a day soon.
2009-08-29 455.3 mi. 11.11 US gal $2.699 40.98 US Tennessee was great. Really relaxing at my bro's place. Nice time off from driving, but glad to be behind the wheel again. Gas prices down there are about 20 cents cheaper than here, even with a 9.25% sales tax. Great weather, not that great hypermiling.
2009-08-02 421.8 mi. 10.4 US gal $2.499 40.56 US A bunch of nice weather, not all that much rain. Most of the driving was with my wife, and she can't stand the hypermiling, so I just have to drive "normally". Oh well, I still managed a decent tank.
2009-07-19 420.6 mi. 9.68 US gal $2.299 43.45 US Wow, what a beautiful gated community our friends have. Amazing private beach, a condo the size of my house. It was gorgeous, and so was the weather. Unpaid furlough week #1, bummer. Oh well, get to do some stuff around the apartment I've been meaning to do. Pump #6, Cumberland Farms, Laconia, NH.
2009-07-09 500.8 mi. 11.07 US gal $2.439 45.24 US YEAH!!!! First 500 Mile Tank!!! Part of the 500 mile club! What a great trip. I had fun getting that one. Not very much EOC, the wife doesn't llike it, thinks it's unsafe. So I don't do it when she's in the car, but WOW! great numbers. Bad weather, but great numbers. Supposed to be sunny for a bit this week, hope the mileage improves.
2009-07-03 108.8 mi. 3.101 US gal $2.579 35.09 US Short Fill-up next door Pump #3 before Trip to Colby Camp for the Fourth's Festivities. What a great time we had, I got great mileage on the next tank, I can feel it. This log is not representative of the mileage I got. Gone 400 miles so far on the next tank and still have over 1/4 left, looking to become part of the 500 miler club. Weather has sucked the past month and a half, I am so sick of rain, I hope to mow the lawn sometime before November. Funny - Out
2009-06-27 435.4 mi. 10.2 US gal $2.499 42.69 US More wet, crappy weather. Kills the mileage, but helps the grass grow. Catch 22. Loving married life, my wife is an awesome cook, almost makes me forget about the less than ideal conditions outside. Pump #6 (10 and 12 were occupied) at Montouri's. PRAY FOR SUN!!!!!
2009-06-20 442.6 mi. 11.23 US gal $2.539 39.41 US Pump #10. Filled up after the Honeymoon. What a week, probably the cause of the slightly lower MPG than I wanted. Other people drove the car, and it was a hell of a trip down to the woodbound through the woods, so I really can't complain. Next tank will be better. Married life is great, and boy is my wife a great cook. I LOVE MY WIFE!!!!!!
2009-06-05 473.1 mi. 10.19 US gal $2.339 46.43 US Wow. What a great tank. I want to thank all the people who post wonderful techniques on this website for their help. It really has improved my mileage over the past year, and I hope that this continues in the future. I still need to get a new set of struts, but all other systems are go. Pump #12 Montouri's.
2009-05-25 445.9 mi. 10.58 US gal $2.339 42.15 US Prices are going up. Not too happy about that, but on the lighter side my mileage is still up. Some douchebag cut me off on the way into pump 12, had to go to pump 8, jerk... Still need to do some work to my shocks, they are bugging me something fierce now. Detailed my car on Sunday and Monday (Memorial Day), took both days because the car was that disgusting. Going to attempt to do some also turned 140,000 on this tank. Going to have to make sure that I thoughroughly check over the Lemon to keep her in tip top shape.
2009-05-13 424 mi. 10.12 US gal $2.199 41.9 US Prices are creeping up again. Must be Memorial day BS. The most EOC I have done on a tank that I can remember. Still need new shocks. Pump #12 Montouri's
2009-04-30 443.7 mi. 10.59 US gal $1.959 41.9 US Pump #12. Standard Hypermileage techniques employed for this tank (EOC, Timing the lights, taking the fiances' car when the mileage will be bad... :-) ) Other than that, a less efficient tank than anticipated. I am going to try harder. I will break that 50 MPG mark this summer, at least that's the goal.
2009-04-21 421.3 mi. 9.827 US gal $1.959 42.87 US Pump #12 - Montouri's. High mileage is here at last! Praise the Lord!!! Thank you, EOC, you contributed the most to this tank. I now realize how much I should install a kill switch. Here's to another killer tank!
2009-04-11 383.9 mi. 9.539 US gal $1.939 40.25 US Gas prices are going up. Temperature is going up. Confidence in breaking 40 MPG for the rest of the Spring, Summer and Fall, also up. Squeaky suspension, most likely the struts, rear and front. Need to get those replaced. Need to figure out whether I need to have rims polished to stop the leaking. injectors are going to be removed and cleaned when I get a chance, hopefully before the wedding. The Lemon seems to be running without much of a stumble as of late, I think the anhydrous methanol is to thank. Montouri's Pump #12.
2009-04-04 413.3 mi. 10 US gal $1.899 41.33 US Pump #10 Montouri's - Finally a decent tank. Great weather and fully inflated tires are the cause I'm sure. Lots of EOC and I can't wait until next tank! I want to design the push button start and kill that I had originally planned for before winter, and do all the repairs that I need to get done on the lemon so I can squeeze another couple hundred thousand miles out of her. Struts need to be replaced, I need to take the tires off and have the mag alloy rims polished so they stop leaking, and other minor, though unusual, repairs.
2009-03-24 643 mi. 17.1 US gal $1.871 37.6 US Splash and Dash $10 Pump 2 Exxon - Pep. - 415 mi.
$1.899/gal
Filled Up $22 Pump 12 Montouri's - @ 643.0 mi.
$1.859/gal

Up and down weather and temperature, we'll see what comes out of this warmer climate.
2009-03-06 381.8 mi. 10.58 US gal $1.819 36.09 US Winter sucks, that is my official opinion. On a lighter note, it is getting warm outside, the days of high mileage will be upon us soon...
2009-02-22 488.5 mi. 13.25 US gal $1.799 36.87 US Winter sucks for gas mileage. That is my official opinion.
2009-02-08 338.7 mi. 9.756 US gal $1.819 34.72 US Winter sucks for gas mileage. That is my official opinion.
2009-01-31 393 mi. 11.38 US gal $1.779 34.53 US Winter sucks for gas mileage. That is my official opinion.
2009-01-22 388.3 mi. 11.63 US gal $1.719 33.39 US OMGWTFBBQ - This means WAR!!! I am sick of you, cold! I have changed my spark plugs and wind sheild wipers and as soon as the weather gets warmer, I am cleaning the GD Fuel Injectors! ARRRGGG!!!!!
2009-01-13 420.4 mi. 11.46 US gal $1.679 36.68 US More cold BS in the state of Massachusetts, home of *****s in government and jo-*****-nalists in the urban areas of brainwashing and non-thought. Long has been our pain and suffering in such a vast waste of political corruption and bra-stuffing antics. We must forthwith come to an understanding of sorts, a common ground of MPG bliss. Look forth, to greener vehicles and more prosperous times, we have but four years to endure, four years of mindless wandering in a desert of lost, heartless, mindless ignorance. God save us!
2009-01-02 285.4 mi. 8.338 US gal $1.559 34.23 US Added 1 Quart of Anhydrous Methanol to the tank to clean out the water from the Lemon, hopefully that will get rid of the stumbling.
2008-12-15 488.2 mi. 11.92 US gal $1.689 40.96 US I really hate this cold weather, as far as my milage is concerned that is. The weather has destroyed the MPG of the Lemon, and I need to find out what I need to do to this beast in the spring.
2008-11-30 422.4 mi. 10.93 US gal $1.799 38.65 US Same as before. Replaced mother-effing battery, Wally world was out of the middle of the road unit, so I had to buy the top-of-the-freaken-line battery. Although the old battery had been in there for the life of the car so far... seven years good?
2008-11-20 445.9 mi. 11.29 US gal $1.799 39.5 US Need to fix the shocks. I think I'll wait until spring and do coil overs. Cold as a ******* here.
2008-11-06 512.1 mi. 12.68 US gal $2.219 40.39 US 1.200 gallons at pump 5 George's Mobil.
11.481 gallons at pump 12 Montouri's.
Splash and dash on 2008-11-04. Complete fill on 11-06.
458.2 miles on first leg. 512.1 on second.
2008-10-23 660.3 mi. 15.5 US gal $2.645 42.6 US Splash and Dash on 10-19-08 for $10 @ pump #10 while at 452.4 miles - filled 3.573 gallons @ $2.799
Fillup on 10-23-08 for $31 @ pump #10 while at 660.3 miles - filled 11.927 gallons (the most I can ever recall filling, I was sucking fumes for about 50 miles... ) @ $2.599.
Changed oil to 5-w20 on 10-16-08 hope it affects the next tank. Regular driving schedule, nothing really different except last night's jaunt to Worcester. EOC working wonders, but it's getting really cold, mileage is bound to suffer...
2008-10-07 488.8 mi. 11.4 US gal $3.399 42.88 US Getting colder outside, it's making it harder to get to the elusive 50 MPG. I still need to do the regular maintenance to the Lemon, but I have not yet had the time. I want to add a kill switch and PBS to it before winter, but that opportunity is dwindling. Oh well, time to cheer up, because I'm still about 50% up on the EPA, hahaha!
2008-09-25 387.2 mi. 9.178 US gal $3.459 42.19 US More EOC on this tank. Lost some MPG due to other people in the car, I cannot drive for economy when other people are with me. I just choose lower fuel economy over listening to *****ing (aka griping, whining, and carrying on). My loss I suppose... Still haven't repaired the Lemon, she needs the brake rotors cleaned up, a new cat, possibly new O2 sensors, oil change, transmission fluid change, spark plugs... that's about it . Anyway I'll be fixing a few of those issues soon, next paycheck.
2008-09-13 425.2 mi. 9.606 US gal $3.539 44.26 US Filled up at Mobil Station in North Andover near Franciscan Friar Center. Had a good time EOC for the second time on this tank, much more than last. It's not as difficult as I first imagined, however I have to Replace my brakes and rotors soon, Cat still bugging me, spark plugs, struts, the list goes on... But I own the Lemon! This is probably going to be 50+ MPG by next summer. Most travel was to and from work. Couple times to the mall and to the Center.
2008-09-04 438.1 mi. 10.28 US gal $3.479 42.62 US My first attempts at EOC were established on this tank, mostly during my morning commute. This resulted, even with the brakes needing replacement, in much higher FE than I had expected. The next two tanks are going to be interesting as I plan on installing an Engine Kill Switch, as well as do the brakes, and continue to perfect the EOC technique.
2008-08-24 388.1 mi. 10.4 US gal $3.629 37.32 US This tank is so much lower than it should be, and here's the explanation: dragging caliper. This tank is to the Aviation mall and back, to Lake Luzerne and back, to the track and back many times, out to breakfast multiple times, and all the while I must have had a dragging caliper on the front passenger wheel. I only noticed it coming back through VT over the hills, decelerating while going DOWNHILL, WTF! Took my wheel off when I got home, and sure enough, she was dragging. I'm going to pick up a caliper kit and redo the beast and hope that solves the problem. Exxon Pump #6
2008-08-21 431.6 mi. 10.77 US gal $3.739 40.07 US Trip out to NY for pleasure started on 8/19/08, didn't need to fill up until 8/21, gas out there is much more expensive than in MA. Traveled everywhere on this tank. Due to unexpected circumstances, this tank is lower than it should be (see next Fuel Log entry). Great weather during Vacation, really had nothing to complain about. Malta Getty, Pump #1
2008-08-16 454.3 mi. 10.62 US gal $3.719 42.78 US Went to see Batman in Imax on this tank. Car was full of people that weigh a combined approximation of 900lbs. That was about 100 miles round trip on mostly (90%) highway (Route 9 is a deathtrap, I swear it. I tried to go about 55, had to speed up to 75 just to prevent the people behind me the need to swerve around me). The rest is to and from the Pheasant Lane Mall once, and to and from work.
2008-08-09 380.3 mi. 9.361 US gal $3.739 40.63 US Fueled up in Derry, NH near this Flea market. Shell Station Pump #1. Not sure where the hell I went to and from on this tank it has been so hectic. There's a little work and a little play in this tank, so take the MPG with a grain of salt.
2008-07-31 442.6 mi. 11.12 US gal $3.799 39.8 US Fueled up at usual station #12. Heavy Acceleration (to hopefully force water/soot/sediment/crap out of my exhaust and gas tank. This is really starting to bother me. I need to check the O2 sensors again. This problem needs to get solved relatively soon, my mileage and longevity of the lemon depend on it.
2008-07-25 425.6 mi. 10.73 US gal $3.899 39.66 US Wet weather and heavy acceleration, bad MPG. this car needs a good look-over before the end of summer. tires need to be checked for propper pressure and the cat needs a good whallop. Pump #12 the usual station.
2008-07-16 402.8 mi. 9.952 US gal $3.979 40.47 US Still having trouble code, P0420 Bank 1 O2 sensor says Cat is bad, causing the car to hesitate on hills. Went to the beach on one saturday, got my vitamin D for the month. Other than that, standard driving as usual. Pump #10 at the usual station.
2008-07-07 600.4 mi. 14.41 US gal 41.67 US One splash and dash during this tank for 10 dollars, 3.659 gallons @ $4.099 on 07-04-2008. Re-freaking-diculous Thunder-hail-rain-monsoon conditions during this tank. What is up with this weather? Just back and forth to the mall a few times and work, the excitement/stress of trying to buy your first house causes crappy sleep patterns. I need to fix my car, it really hesitates awful at the worst possible times now, most likely the cat, but the carbon canister is probably clogged.
2008-06-24 460.6 mi. 11.28 US gal 40.83 US Nothing special, to and from work. Bad weather contributed to lower than desired mileage. Have had a thunder storm every day for a week now. Pump #12 at the usual, $3.989 a gallon.
2008-06-13 444.2 mi. 10.19 US gal 43.59 US The business trip was great, finally corrected the issue that we had last time, and made some more good paper. This tank is a little of everything, city, highway, rural, hot, cool, monsoon . I think there is a slow leak in the passenger front tire, but they were all re-inflated to 51 psi on 06-11-08. Before the trip, I had to take the grill blocks out. They finally gave up the ghost after being waterlogged. They did stay on the car with the zip ties very well, so when I make new grill blocks out of something sturdier, I will use zips again. $3.999 a gallon, Pump #12.
2008-06-10 411.6 mi. 10 US gal 41.16 US This tank was a quick one. Went to Saratoga on Saturday, Big Brown didn't make the Triple Crown, so now it's been a full thirty years since the last time that award has been bestowed. Saturday Morning at 5:30am it was 70 degrees out, at 9:20am when we got there it was 90 degrees. When we left at noon it was 95, and my outside air temp sensor in my car was reading 103. No A/C on the way up, Full A/C on the way back(She was in the car, guys you know what I'm talking about ).Hogback was a beast on the Lemon, and I've never had the coolant that high, topping out at 244 degrees (whew!). The remainder of the tank was an attempt to make up for the A/C usage. Filled up at the normal station pump #12. $3.999 a gallon.
2008-06-06 405.1 mi. 9.773 US gal 41.45 US Nothing special, just to and from work. Pump #12 as usual. Going to NY twice in one week. One pleasure (Saratoga), the second is business. More fill-ups REALLY soon. $3.939/gallon.
2008-05-29 441 mi. 10.72 US gal 41.14 US Got back from another trip to NY, the boss drove this time, so no super-duper tank this time. #12 at the usual station. $3.919 a gallon, getting a little bit ridiculous.
2008-05-15 470.4 mi. 10.54 US gal 44.63 US Trip to New York mill went well, all the driving was through the rolling hills of Vermont and upstate NY. My boss couldn't beleive that we didn't fill up my tank while we were out there . Thank God we didn't the gas prices out in Saratoga were $3.959 for regular, ouch! Filled up at #10 the usual station, not #12 because someone was in a hurry and backed in . Next Time... Also, tires are up to 50 PSI. $3.699/gal
2008-05-11 456.6 mi. 11.08 US gal 41.21 US Different station than normal . Pump #7 Exxon. $3.699/Gallon Regular. Not the most efficient driving this week, rain and cold mornings probably cut 3 or 4 of that number I would have gotten. But it's still a good number. I think I'll make a short term goal of 50 this summer. Barb had her baby, Johanna (she's adorable) 7.5 lbs 20 inches. Uncle Funny will be babysitting soon enough, I'm sure. Going to New York with my Boss to one of the other Mills. Next edit will probably be Wednesday 14th.

TR7048-05 #2! Woohoo!
2008-05-01 296.6 mi. 7.673 US gal 38.66 US Filled up at pump #12 at the station as usual. Rainy weather contributed to a lower number than I had hoped for on this tank. Increased tire pressure to 48 (hot) psi. I'll check the tires in the morning for cold pressures and adjust accordingly.
2008-04-24 258.6 mi. 5.99 US gal 43.17 US Filled the tank up, finally. Last week I put in 20 bucks and calculated the MPG and gallons used this fill up, then posted both. 636.1 Total miles traveled on 15.763 gallons of gas, 40.36 MPG. All the last weeks driving was 60 MPH and under, no highway. I'm thinking about a radiator fan breather modification... that's what I'm calling it anyway, gonna have to think this one through (and get a better name for it ).
2008-04-17 377.5 mi. 9.517 US gal 39.67 US I put $20 worth @ $3.339 in a week ago, that was at 377.5 miles. Quite a bit of highway driving. This is not my best work. I think with a little aeromodding, those numbers will be in the low 50s for MPG, presumably.
2008-04-08 271.1 mi. 7.261 US gal 37.34 US Went and fueled up early at just under half a tank last night. Then took the long way home to check the Grill/Radiator Block I had installed.. The trip would normally be 40-41MPG driving like I want it. Last night's Trip .... 45.9MPG. Woohoo!
2008-04-01 425.6 mi. 10.73 US gal $3.899 39.66 US Wet/Crappy weather and heavy acceleration (in hopes of forcing whatever is the problem with my Cat/Fuel out of the car) contributed to lower MPG this go around. Pump #12 usual station. Need to check tire pressure and make some aero mods that are more permanent.
