Freezing, at a new hospital/clinical site (until march)

Scraping ice off the car at 5am

have found some great EOC/bump start spots on my commute, also habitually incorporating DWL and P&G

edit: surprised at my actual mpg calculated here - my onboard mpg calculator had me at 38.3...must be from the EOC and my calculator not accounting for the portion when my engine is completely turned off, before i turn the electronics back on

to dayton and back, lots of P&G 55-60mph, some EOC

full upper and lower grill blocks now

it could have been much better, but the first quarter tank involved some savage city driving, including a brutal 1 mile bumper to bumper uphill stop and go that really killed the mileage

60-70% highway with this tank

Put a upper grill block and partial lower on during the last quarter of the tank

using fuel rewards from my local grocery, got a lot of $$ off per gallon

Wife took the car on a 200 mile round trip

My commute ends in the 5th level of a parking garage at the hospital i'm currently at (required parking for students/residents)...its killing my mpg

Taught my wife to drive stick with this tank, still 80% city, 20% highway- the EPA has been adjusted to reflect this driving ratio (27mpg average), so right now I'm at 16.7%. I feel like that's cheating though, since the 50/50 EPA mpg average is 30.

Pumped the tire pressure up to 38 PSI halfway through the tank, I have noticed though that with the cold weather (32 degrees) the tire pressure starts out at 35 PSI in the morning, and then slowly goes up to 37-38 PSI by the end of my drive

Topped off my tank, reset my trip count and mpg average.......here this is my official start to hypermiling.

My averages are going to suck for a while, as I'm doing about 80% city right now, and because I suck at hypermiling in general, since I'm still a beginner.

I'm interested in keeping this log to see how I improve over time.
