Costco was .07 cheaper per gallon than ARCO today... Hooray. Very cold weather & rain for this month. Unusual for Phoenix. Cheaper gas has reduced my motivation for hypermiling, but for a stock V6 truck with 4 doors, still not bad. Reading on the Tacoma World forum most Taco owners feel like they are doing good with only 20MPG. I am doing much better. |

Arco was .05 per gallon cheaper than the usual place, Costco, but they have a .45 transaction fee for the debit card. 18.31 gallons x .05 = .9155 - .45 = .4655 in savings, and it is a little closer to home. I also had let my tire pressure slip from 50PSI to about 42PSI, but now I have a compressor at home so I can keep up with the tire pressure better. 43PSI is still better than the manufacturers recommendation of 29PSI. The tire sidewall says 51PSI MAX. |

Took an offroad trip this tank. Ruduced tire pressure at trail head to 27 PSI for better ride and traction on rough road. Drove up and over the Four Peaks Rd with my woman and her 2 kids. The trail goes up to around 7000 feet on maintained desert dirt road. They say you need a high clearance 4X4, but I have driven a old school dodge van up there, and only a lowered ricer would have trouble, a normal economy car could go, but the going would be slow. 23 MPG considering this is not bad at all. |
