Let this tank be a lesson of what driving without a partial grill block will do for mpg. The coolant temps would not reach the optimal level for mpgs and it made my aero worse. It shows too... I think there may have been a slight overfill as well.
I got my AC and PS deleted along with the UDP on it is already looking very promising!

This tank was with 87. I had spark knock like crazy the whole tank! Having to mess with the fans constantly was a headache, but who said good mpgs were going to be easy to come by?
I have switched pumps. I am now at Pump #1 @ a local Hess station. The 93 is cheaper than BP's 89 So I am trying that. So far, much less spark knock.
With the new location means that the fill was screwed up this time. I took the SG's data and used it, since its reported mpg has been within 1-2%. So things should even out for the next fill-up. Looking forward to the meet tomorrow and a shot at 55 mpg! |

The temperatures have taken a tumble the past few days, and I had to drive in the rain for two days.

I had a P0446 code on the first half of the tank that created issues and hurt the mpg. This tank could have been ~44 if not ffor that EVAP problem!

This tank was partially run without the Thrush Turbo muffler installed. The 1st half was Interstate driving to Roanoke Rapids and back, avgd. ~37. Then muffler went on, and FE rose!
Usually by 1/2 tank, what the SG tells me as tank avg. is usually set in stone. I see this as a very positive sign that my late summer numbers are coming back. And then some. |

Went back to good ol' pump #8 at the coutry store :-) this tank is skewed some, not much. I will be using this pump for the forseeable future. Going with 89 to combat pinging at low rpm/high load situations. It took 1 gal less to fillup than what the SG said... and 4 mpgs less. Goes to show how important using the same pump is! |

This tank had a bad start. Finished well though. I think it is a slight overfill, due to my calibrated SG having a readout of 43.1. Grill block makes a BIG difference! |

Yep, last tank was definitely an overfill went back to pump #8 @ Ronnie Parker's. SG told me that the tank mpg was ~41 mpg. Tank was partially run on new Taylor wireset and Autolite Iridium plugs gapped ~0.070. Took the WAI off... it is going back on. I like my IATs 110-130 rather than 65-85. |
