Turns out my tripmeter is only reporting 85% of the distance I cover. And after dividing the raw mileage by 85% I get more accurate numbers. I made a couple long trips on the "Scenic route" to pickup a few things and my miles per gallon jumped. The only modification I have now is both headlights are out and nothing is blocking the grills at all. And I flushed out the radiator and coolant system and MPG is over 26 @.@ |

10 receipts from 2 different gas stations(9 from Thorntons and 1 from Swifties). I had to look through several dozen receipts to find my last fill-up and compare that to the current fill-up. The totals were $145.40 in fuel, 62.356 gallons of 87 octane, price per gallon varied from a high of $2.919 on Oct 12th to a low of $1.829 on Nov 11th. Driving style was pretty steady, moderate accel to speed, maintaining speed limits when possible, a few miles of EOC, nothing major. I deleted the antennae and mudflaps. Need to do some maintenance and put a piece of chloroplast on the front bumper. |

MPG is steady on the newer summer fuel, I'm not sure if they're using E10 in the local gasoline.
My truck is running fine during normal driving except under medium accelerating from a dead stop. Easing from a stop helps(reducing the "wait" or stutter) but there is a noticeable hesitation before the engine gives enough power to accelerate from idle. Possibly exhaust leak releasing the back pressure and reducing torque. Family and relatives are telling me I'll overheat the truck if I leave the grill block in place. I need to complete the grill block or go with a new bumper to fix temporary block issues. Getting a better temperature gauge will help to alleviate family concerns about damaging my vehicle or maybe just my concerns. I'll upgrade all of the gauges to make it worthwhile. Plus I need to plan a tranny temperature gauge, and a vacuum gauge into the upgraded cluster as well. Better instrumentation will help point out any issues faster too than the standard idiot gauges. |

I reinstalled a grill block on my front bumper, which had a rather large gap for airflow in the front. I made a Kammback for my cab and covered the last 2 feet of my bed with chloroplast. The Kammback and partial bed cover both fell apart due to poor craftsmanship. No one was injured, thankfully. I still have the Kammback frame, I just need to reinforce it better and provide something better than duct tape for attaching it to my cab. This came out as my best MPG, the only other factors besides the aero mods, is the possibility that summer gas has started to yield better MPGs. |

This one here I had to guess for $10 worth of fuel. The gallons and mileage I est at 3.54 gallons and the mileage at 299. Plus I did a partial fillup after that but I filled it up completely the third time. I figured out the mileage before I did the MPG so I think the final mpg is within my average MPG over a given week. So in the end I doubt the error is more than a few percentage points.

I recomputed my mileage after calculating a 12.5% error (formerly 14.545%) error in accuracy. So I will post and use my odometer reading and my net distance. Even though gasoline pumps here list the gallons to the thousandths, my odometer lists to the tenth, my adjusted mileage goes on, I'll stick to using all number listed here for final numbers just so there isn't any confusion on my math. And I'd like to track cost per mile so I'll list price per gallon of gasoline to the tenth of a cent per mile.
