Some updates:
Moved to downtown Burlington, so most of my trips lately are <5 miles, and the weather has been between 0 and 20F for the most part, resulting in pretty absurdly bad mileage. I'm putting far fewer miles on the car in total too, so it's looking like weeks, possibly even months between fillups.
New project though! I'm going to do some upgrades to the DC-DC converter to improve its efficiency.

Just had my 2nd from worst ever tank, despite getting economy like this while on the highway:
I've moved to downtown Burlington, and the 80+ mpg highway trips are having a hard time offsetting ~30mpg stop and go traffic in the city. I'm walking a lot more, and putting fewer total miles on the car, but sometimes I can't help but drive the car in these conditions.
On the bright side, this is all starting to melt:

Yeah, I know how that is. My typical longest commute in the Insight is 7 miles to work. Overcoming the warm up penalty is a pretty huge deal.

It does indeed plug in to the factory hole. My testing shows it to be little better than leaving the antenna base on the roof without anything in it (or in other words, it's pretty lousy), so I'm considering digging my factory antenna out of a box and stuffing the whole assembly under the dash somewhere to see if it's any better. |
