I got some more shots of the underbody at the 2017 Mid-Atlantic Insight Meet.

The G2 Insight starts off with a way better aero job underneath than the G1 Insight had, but there's room for improvement.

I reinstalled my coroplast radiator block. The weather has turned colder, and it was taking a long time to heat up.

Nice work on the undertray!

You have access to a lift to work on it?

No, that was at Lincoln Tech for the 2017 Maryland Insight Meetup where like 15 or so of us brought our Insights and worked on them. Mine was the only G2 Insight, and I didn't need anything done, but the others there thought it was cool and I even gave a couple test drives.

These coroplast underbody panels won me "best mod" at the end of the day lol.

LED headlights installed yesterday. Comparison photo of the beam pattern and brightness.

The car has DRLs so I might as well just switch to having these lower-energy LEDs on all the time.

I like the LED headlight pattern pic. Thanks. The LED is on the right? Also, which LED is it? Got a link or brand? Would love more info. Thx.

They have like different options for different cars. I didn't know this but apparently the 2010 Insight uses H11 bulbs for the headlights, but also a pair of 9005 bulbs as DRLs on low power and then when you turn the high beams on the 9005 bulbs come on again at high power in addition to the H11 low beams. So I probably also need to replace the 9005s, but like right now if I turn the LED H11 low beams on the incandescent 9005 DRLs turn off.

I had never seen anything like this before. My 2000 Insight has just one pair of headlight bulbs. I used to have a 2001 which had DRLs because it was Canadian, but the DRL mechanism in that car was just constant low current to the headlight bulbs.

Right. H11 is single-filament and used in the G2's low beam and fog lights. The high beams are 60 Watt 9005s.
I'd leave them as is, unless you expect thousands of hours of burn time on them. Plus, you'd need to overcome the DRL functionality.
Halogens weigh less than LEDs so it is more economical to have halogens there if you only use then sporadically.

Got my 2nd best tank ever yesterday with 55.26 mpg. My best was about 3 months ago at 56.14 mpg. This time around the car thought I was doing 60.0 MPG. It's always displaying high. I've been driving with ethanol-free gas which is more expensive, but it's worth it to me to not have to fill up as often. This time I filled with 90 octane ethanol free though instead of the normal 87 octane e-free (because of the gas station I used.)

Also, yesterday before filling up I pumped the tires up to 60 PSI. I've never run them this high before in this car. Maybe between the tire pressure and the higher octane I can get a 600 mile tank? I had the tires at 48 psi.
