The higher-end models (-3,-4, etc.) DO have rearview cameras (for backing up), so all Toyo needs to do is redo the software to allow the driver to select & display rearview camera image ALL THE TIME.

The Tesla Model S has less than perfect sightlines out the back. And they do have an option to display the view from the rear camera all the time, on the lower half of the center screen.

All cars suffer from blind spots to the sides. This may be the best argument for getting side video mirrors!

It's a good argument for getting self-driving cars!

Actually, it would be nice if local laws would be updated to allow side cameras instead of requiring mirrors. Apparently the camera lobbyists haven't bought any politicians yet, so it may be a while.

Instead, we get idiots passing laws that allow Plug-in Prius drivers to single occupy HOV lanes. We never had a problem with single occupant Prii being excluded from HOV in the past, but apparently this is important stuff now.

There might be some better way to incentive the usage of fuel-saving vehicles instead of congesting the HOV lanes with them.

The speed limits in Oregon never recovered, either.

They got rid of the console buttress! Yay! We'll find out what the battery capacity is, and the plugin range, soon. And the Cd, etc. They just can't quite get rid of the upper grill, can they?

Well, that was a letdown. No specs, no numbers, no nothing, just vapid reassurances that it's a "beautiful car" and a few spins around a turntable.

{tongue-in-cheek comment} "Hey, Toyota, I'm still wearing my socks!"

...and, that WHITE console is gonna be HATED by people living and driving in SUNNY places, such as California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, etc..
