2018 Mirage G4

Hello Everyone,

I had a 2013 Prius C back in 2014/2015 when gas prices were much higher. Sold the car to my girl friend. It's still in the family. I've been driving my 2006 F150 Super Crew with the 5.4 Triton motor to work for about 7 months now and got sick of the poor gas mileage and expensive fill ups every week.

Started looking for a decent used car but anything in the ranged i wanted to spend was either much older or very high miles.

A local Mitsubishi dealer near me is advertising Mirages and Mirage G4's for a decent discount. 1K is from Mitsubishi. I ended up getting about 6K off of a Mirage G4 ES with a few options. Out the door price was a about 13.5K.

We'll see how it does long term for durability and fuel mileage. At least it comes with a good power train warranty 10 years/100K miles. Another perk of the dealership is 1st oil change is free and everyone after that is only $5.00 up to 100K miles.

Going to track the mileage on Fuelly.

Anyways thanks for reading my long post and am glad to be back.

Welcome back and good luck with the mirage! I have heard good things about it.

If I'm not mistaken, there have been issues with rear wheel alignment on that car. Just an FYI to be aware of before it eats your tires.

Yea i was doing some reading last night and it seems this is a problem but i thought i read where they fixed the issue for either the 17's or 18's?. I hope so. We will see. If it is still happening i'll rotate tires more often. It has the 15" alloy wheels vs the 14" steelies. Hopefully i can find cheap new tires when the time comes.

You got the CVT option, not the manual, and paid less than MSRP. Pretty nicely negotiated. Congrats on that. At 0.550 on the top end and with a 3.757 final drive, that CVT will turn at a nice low RPM on the highway and in all sorts of secondary road conditions. You'll miss engine off coasting but the driving will be simpler and less complicated. How is the noise level inside at freeway speeds?

I will rebuild Black and Green over decades as parts die, until it becomes a different car of roughly the same shape and color. My minimum fuel economy goal is 55 mpg while averaging posted speed limits. I generally top 60 mpg. See also my Honda manual transmission specs thread.

Yea MSRP was over $18,000. I would never pay that for the car. At that price I would of found something else with a little more power. Actually the road noise is not any worse than the Prius C. I haven’t done much Highway driving with it. The engine is louder at WOT until you let off the gas. There won’t be much of that unless I’m trying to pass someone or enter a busy roadway with limited gaps in traffic.

Congrats on the new ride. I really like my 2014 5 speed. It gets great mileage around town. I think you'll be pleased with the mileage.
