Unhook the battery so the car can get used to using the EGR again?

I already tried that, but I only unplugged it for about 10 minutes, I'll unplug it before I go to bed tonight and test it in the morning. Thanks for at least responding nobody else seems to be interested Lolz.

Usually you only need to leave the battery unplugged for 5 mins to reset everything so you should be good. I'd offer more help but I don't know much about that. Sorry.

Yea idk what's wrong. I'm carpooling right now so I'm not really worried about it tbh. And with me getting that speeding ticket a couple projects gotta go on hold.

Anyone know if seafoaming at 199k miles would be a bad idea? I heard that seafoaming high mileage cars is a bad idea but idk.

Well a lot of the subaru guys swear by Seafoam regardless of mileage but I know a lot of other people who think that it wrecked their cars too. My opinion is that it's not going to hurt anything if used properly if you have carbon deposits and other junk in your engine that are so bad that when they get cleaned out your engine leaks or breaks you would have had the same thing happen pretty soon anyway.

Well I know seafoaming works, my mom's CRV was idling really weird and I put some through the brake booster line and it did fix it. Still has yet to come back. I'll just do it and hope for the best.

So I Seafoamed the Civic and oh my god I have NEVER seen so much smoke come from a car, the entire area around my car was completely covered in smoke and you couldn't even see straight! It was ridiculous, after a 10 minute drive it was still putting out a constant stream of smoke, so I took it on a nice 40 mile drive and when I got home it wasn't smoking anymore lol.
