This is from the Bug Report thread (for the peanut gallery). It's embarrassing, but if you could change it to Anarchism is: fixing your own neighbourhood's potholes that would be awesome.

Anarchy's great, I'm a fan of it when it's positive.

Seed bombs FTW.

There, I used bombs and anarchy in the same post (twice, even) for the Gubmint to find. Now all our email addresses will be getting extra scrutiny.

No sign indicating the merge, and which lane has the right of way?

Merge left?

100 years ago in Seattle, there weren't any potholes becasue there weren't any roads. So the anarchists had to build highways:
Just A Car Guy: The Pacific Coast Highway, 1915, an area near Seattle was a plank road. Made by car clubs, not the local, county, state or federal government

Quote:
It was the creation, not of government, but of a loose affiliation of auto clubs in Oregon, Washington and British Columbia. The group chose an official north-south route and placed signs along the way identifying it as the Pacific Highway.
Anarchism's been tried before; in 1917 Russia it was crushed by the Bolesheviks and in 1930s Spain it was dog-piled by everybody. Today there is an infrastructure is place with crypto block-chains that enable consensus without trust.

I seriously doubt that, as mine likely dates from sometime in the late 1980s :-)

You made me look. Sharp Carousel II, June 1989.

I like it because there is no push-to-start; just a rotary dial with a blade I can grip between the fingers on my left hand* ...then elbow the door closed.

Edit: knuckle grip and twist, so you don't have to wash your hand.

All politix is local. Here is a pothole in the lane in my neighborhood. There is a 5mph speed limit, so it doesn't take much. Some Anonymous Coward contributed the paver block. I dug it out to level it with the pavement and added the crushed rock. That was sluiced out of the muck that accumulates under a 40ft fir tree (at about 1/2" per year).

Edit: there's a 2 minute video on Youtube from one of my favorite commentators, Sargon of Akkad mocking the Portland pavement crew.

I won't link it because language, but you can seek it out: "Anarchists Don't Understand Roads — The Thinkery "
