My friend Katch directed me to this fourum and I thank him. I have alway sought to get better mileage and even built my own cool-air Pough carburator in highschool. Since then I have been designing cool vehicles. One is a aero RV, see attached, I am sure we will see more of this streamlining in the near future.

Rambat, on the RV; does the hump on the rear-ish part of the roof for what might be the A/C unit act as a spoiler?

My alternate thought on it; is that hump more or less a teardrop shape for the A/C and independent of the overall form's aerodynamics.

Katch, That was a image of a "Boater-home" half boat, half semi bus rig I have been working with a client on. Attached is the early RV stream-liner I dreamed up and intended to post, I think the extra height on any big rig is wasted if not for placing the driver. The high visibility is a safety advantage.
My brother is a teacher and his school team won the "Eco-Challenge" for his class in Houston last year. They are working on a Urban concept for this years Challenge and I have consulted regarding the hollow tail to reduce drag and some other issues. I sent him this link and we will post some images soon, to be more relevant here on Ecomodder.

This has devolved into trucks with ridiculously diminished load capacities (ya know- their reason for being) and "aero" RVs that are distinctly un-aero.

This thread has evolved into a collection bin of various truck-like oddities, which is much to my liking.

Something to be said for variety and trying to learn from adjacent examples.

Did not early automotive aerodynamicists look at aircraft for inspiration?

I'm only going to say these once, and do not intend offense. They just need to be said.

Colani is not aero- he's crazy.

Lambo doors do nothing for Cd.

Nor do chrome, tribal graphics or the color orange.

Those RV's, while neat looking, have almost nothing to do with aerodynamics.

George I think there is a place in this Aero forum for truck pictures. However this thread may not be it.

Sorry if this post sounds blunt. Frank has been trying to get at this for half a page.
