You start to get an idea of what the bare chassis looks like without the plastic body cladding. I want planished and brush-finished raw aluminum, with a clear coat.

There is also a history of the ten-year journey to this point at Arcimoto History

Booming tech industry in Eugene looking for more qualified local employees | KMTR
Quote:
For Arcimoto, their main export is FUV's, also known as 'Fun Utility Vehicles.'

To get these cars moving requires engineers, programmers, manufacturers and other highly skilled employees like Alex Nordenson, who runs the metal laser cutter.

Nordenson is one of 40 employees, but Arcimoto is looking to potentially hire 200 more in the next two years. Business is taking off, and they just got started on a new factory. The problem is finding enough people with the right skills.

"Eugene is getting pretty skinny when it comes to the number of people available for the jobs that are coming in," said Terry Becker, the Chief Operating Officer for Arcimoto.

In the last contact I had with them, the estimate of when my reservation number comes up is 3rd quarter if I get included in the Signature series (I may qualify), or 4th quarter if it is the regular production run.

Next up, they ask if I'm really, really serious and ask for a non-refundable deposit.

edit:

Yes - 3 FUV and two Alpha
Look at arcimoto emblem on the front and at the rear wheel structural support. There is Marks blue Fuv. a blue alpha and then the light blue FUV . Looking at the rear wheel - The Alpha has a different structure then the FUV .
Looking at the front emblem - i see FUV with a flatten "A" alpha with big "A" then light blue with flatten "A" and then red with big "A" and can't see the orange but we know that is a FUV.
That light blue looks like the blue in the Houston we have assemble

They have a little contest on the Facebook page for a tshirt and hat identify the 4 word purpose of the honeycomb shapes in this picture.

"Here's a look at an optional upgrade for the Arcimoto FUV. What's the purpose of that honeycomb section? Great question! First person to guess exactly (hint-there are four words) wins a free t-shirt and hat. Go!
$FUV #electricvehicle #cleantransportation #everydayelectric #arcimoto"

I guessed "Wake vortex turbulence reducers"

I wouldn't touch Facespook with someone else's ten-foot pole, but you can go there, guess doggie kennel/pet transporter [ventilation] and we can split the prize. I already have the hat (and a spare for my son's birthday present).

It would help to see this installed on the SRK. Where is it on the vehicle?

The 4th one in has a simpler version installed, just over the rear tire behind the back seat.

The give-away is the third brake light. Any winner yet?

I'm going to talk to their Business Lead this afternoon. Wish me luck.
