I have found very consistently that people who think bio gas is the solution to all kinds of stuff have never actually worked on bio gas systems and just read about it on the Internet.
A lot of industrial users who can make bio gas already are.
Where I work we produce over 100 million BTU per day and use it all.
To break that down an average home uses maybe 1 million BTU the heat water, cook food and use a gas dryer in warmer weather.
Over a real cold winter a home might use 10 to 25 million BTU per month.
Total natural gas use where i work per day is over 1 billion BTU.
Every little bit helps and it is only a little bit.
Then there is the electrical. We use something like 400 mega watt hours per day.
This is just one factory and it runs 24/7 about 360 days a year.
I understand some what it would take to replace fossil fuel since I have been formally educated on the wind, sun and diesel power generation and I do lots of power calculations, that's mostly what engineers do. Power, heat and mass transfer, some vibrations.

We need a mix of 3 or more renewable sources, and some storage to get to 100% renewable energy.

It comprises an input cycle you can see your calendar by, and hydraulic pumped storage in an hybrid system.

Else hydraulic rams in tidal bores, water-hammering away on an industrial scale.

Wind and solar are too variable to plan an efficient storage solution.

The United states has a few hundred years worth of uranium as long as it gets recycled.
Then there is thorium which is 3 to 4 times more plentiful than uranium.

Capturing tidal and wave power adds up to much less than you think. MacKay has put forward an interesting unit of measure to bring the gigantic numbers like TeraWatts down to something we can relate to. He picked the UK to study and in 2006 when he started, it had a population of about 60 Million. He uses kWh per day per person as a unit. A 40W lightbulb left on is 1 kWh/ day. If everyone has 1 lightbulb on, that is 1 kWh/d per person. The world is currently using 17TW thermal continuous energy total. This is 55 kWh/d/p. And half the world lives in poverty and burns sticks for cooking and heat. The average western european uses 125 kWh/d/p. The UK is 200. The USA is 250 lightbulbs.

All of his calcultions were done to show the maximum of what would be possible regardless of the feasability of land area, cost, or raw materials. He calculated all of the available tide and wave power that could be captured ideally all the way around the British Isles at 20 kWh/d/p for the 60M people there. He had solar at 50kWh/d/p. This would take 200m^2 for every person. This would cover 10% of the land.

Only profit matters. Why isn’t this clear? First, make you sick, then “treat” you as long as possible. At your cost, or society’s makes no difference. It’s profitable at both ends.

The “goal” of America isn’t the admirable religious beginning, or its midpoint “last best hope of mankind”, but to squeeze it dry until there’s nothing left.

“Financial-ize” it. Always the answer. Always the same vermin under that rock.
