Please keep us updated with energy consumption stats. I'm very curious.

I'm hoping to get some better logging data once I start commuting.

I got boned today by the RMV, they had no clue what they were doing. They told me I needed to get a title change, proof that it is electric blah blah blah. So I called up the main RMV office and they told me that no title change was needed, just the RMV-1 form filled out by my insurance (which I already did!). I then asked for contact information so next time I go and they "cant do it" I will give them the person who will do it for me.

I have a 1500 watt KATs engine water heater that I have connected to the original heater core using a 12v RV hot water pump. It is an open system with an expansion tank that I also use to fill the system.

I should have the heater system running this weekend, I just need to hook up the control wires to the Honda temperature control unit then I will be all set. The A/C is going to take longer, but I don't need that until probably next year so I can take my time.

Once I get the heat and new plates I am going down to the Honda dealer for an inspection and alignment and see what their reaction is.

I second this. If we had to build one from start how much roughly for the parts and how many hours of labor?

I have about $20k in this project and maybe 450 hours is all it's development. I literally have been designing it for the past 3 years while driving my previous EV, so I have been doing everything the way I really wanted it.

Thanks for sharing. Seems once you factor in labor, a vehicle, misc tools, a charger, you are about in it as much as a Leaf. I swear I got an email a few weeks ago that you can build a lifepo4 ev for a fraction of the cost of a leaf with the same if not more range. Having just driven a Leaf it seemed like a good read.

I still want to see a Bug-e in action one day as I would be the only occupant.
