Great update Francis. Glad to see that you are getting ready for the SMCC Economy Run next week.

Wow! Lotta nice little jobs there. Did you go for a lighter flywheel and clutch? How much lighter?
EDIT: I just re-read you garage listing of mods. The EWP and radiator switch idea for DFCO cooling is rad. I have been using DFCO jn a somewhat similar way, and I have seen how much cooling it can produce on long hills. Your mod must really cool a hot engine fast!

I will rebuild Black and Green over decades as parts die, until it becomes a different car of roughly the same shape and color. My minimum fuel economy goal is 55 mpg while averaging posted speed limits. I generally top 60 mpg. See also my Honda manual transmission specs thread.

the flywheel is 8lbs vs 15 for the oem the pressure plate is 7.5lbs vs 9 lbs oem but i dont know why it is more light besause its not "lightweight" its oem replacement.

i cant use the original purpose of the The EWP and radiator switch because my alt is not rotating but is has been usefull to cool my engine in unexpected traffic or recently because my starter is going away and i have to idle at red lights and this create too much heat ( i am to lazy to remove some insulation) but i replace my starter tomorrow

and just because my starter is going away i am getting more red lights and traffic then ever

I am impressed by your numbers. I lack a manual trans (oh how I want one again, as much for myself as for MPG), but then again the car was free.

I commend you and will try to take the time to read the whole thread to see what I can/am willing to adopt.

time for a update

first, a review on my fidanza flywheel. my acceleration is faster, starting from a stop and shifting are not harder idle is the same, but it rev higher just after starting or bump starting and bump starting is harder.

this summer I did some maintenance on the car:

remove the rust on the floor

clean the carpet at the same time

and install a smaller driver side mirror from a 2000 toyota echo

you know what to do if you want to know my planned mod
and some of these will be done this winter

update

i received some parts for my big maintenance project

and I found a manual steering rack from a US toyota echo in a salvage yard

i got new tie rod end for it because they are different from the one on the power steering

and I am slowly removing tape on the car by replacing taped chloroplast by black chloroplast

wheel covers

whiper cover

i bought a imax b6 balance charger to charge and balance my DIY 18650 battery packs

and I power it with a DIY computer power supply

i received a flashlight from the internet and it came with a ultrafire 4200mah 18650 battery and I tested it with the imax b6

only 689mah
