That looks more like a tube-frame prototype than an actual Beetle. Notice what looks like a fuel filler cap below the rear side window.

I like that baja conversion. Its not that far from what I would build if I were in a place to have a builder project.

Mine would be more boat tailed, like the BGW van, with this windshield:



Most likely the front pane would be a hexagon with shorter side triangles. Also likely that it would be perforated metal with the stock windshield behind it, with a flap that hinges at the bottom like a military scout car.

I need a model of that.

You could make it like a DuVall with split panes. It would be cool.

The actual inspiration, beyond my Clark Cortex motorhome and myriad other vehicles with 3-pane windshields, is Dick Dean's Shalako:

I was thinking of a 4-pane windshield with the center divider and the sides. Then it could better fit the roundness of the beetle. But the 3-pane makes sense as well.
