I bet their thinking they're going to cash in on the whole hybrid crossover market that's starting to pop up. Even Toyota has acknowledged that they sell way more Rav4 hybrids than Priuses. If they can make crossovers get better gas mileage than having to sell slow-selling high mileage sedans for large portions off of MSRP then they win. They brought back all their small sedans from Europe to help hit MPG targets since they hadn't wanted to do the mass implementation of hybrids. Hell... Toyota has an 8 seater hybrid SUV that gets 30mpg combined.
Get ready for the same from Ford along with a hybrid F150 to be at the front line with job site power plugs built in!
Remember how everyone belly-ached that their 3.5 ecoboost would be the top engine? Now all you see is the 3.5 ecoboost since it gets the highest towing along with fantastic gas mileage now.
It is kinda a bummer now for any budget minded family now because the american manufacturers in a year or two will have just about no options under 20k for purchase anymore. They said the Japs win we wave the white flag! haha

From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda :

On September 30, 2015, when Ford's shares had sunk to a little over 2% due to stock dilution, Ford sold its remaining shares in Mazda.

240V at the tailgate?

I'd like a tow vehicle for my 35ft Airstream that's also an APU, but it won't be a new Ford.

Just A Car Guy: News Flash, Hot Wheels is going on a 50th Anniversary search for your custom car, and you can enter your custom car into the competition or come witness the epic event!

I read that after my second post. This is what I based the second post on:

From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Motor_Company:

"Ford increased its shareholding in Mazda to 33.4% in 1996, but as of July 2016, it is listed at 11%."

Wikipedia. 'nough said.

I think you're using the term fantastic a little loosely there. 2018 3.5 EcoBoost 2wd F150 is rated 17/21

To be fair, the 3.5 eb is a lot of engine, hence the creation of the 2.7 eb, which in the same truck is rated 19/25.

Then again it beats the pants off the 2012 chevy 6.0l v8 monster truck they make me drive at work. I average 13mpg.

You can get eco, or boost. Ecoboosts can be very good mileage makers, but you have to be judicious about it. They're a bit of legal chicanery, as most modern turbo engines are, able to perform well on government tests. Automakers care about those numbers, not so much about what they get when they're out in the wild.

Maybe I should buy up all the Fusion hybrids and sell them at a profit when they are no longer available and gas prices are at $4/gallon.
