Bad usage, sorry.

It's supposed to mean holding resentment. I was thinking of being in the grip of commercialism

Yeah, they want you to buy, just that little bit more, to reach another 100 points.

Of course, it's like Green Stamps. you pay a little bit more to make up for what you get back.

The store doesn't give anything to you for free, but as long as my wife thinks she's getting something, I may as well make the most of it.

Maybe I can access the race tank filler mouth through a plastic peanut butter jar, tighten the tank cap, and screw the lid on sealing it from the inside of the car, so that no fumes or gasoline smell gets into the car. Then, when the Prius tank gets low, I could use a pipe valve to switch to the racing tank. Would I need a separate fuel pump?

Yes, I find that the fuel pump is built into the tank. I'd need an electric fuel pump for the race tank, and a way to turn off the Prius fuel pump. (or, I could pump some of the race tank into the empty Prius tank, possibly through the filler pipe.) Would be SO much easier if there were a 25 gallon replacement tank for the Prius!

I wonder if I tee into the return line, can I automatically drain the race tank as the fuel in the Prius tank is used up? Or would I need a check valve to keep the returning fuel from pushing up into the race tank?

Does anyone know if the fuel return line is pressurized in the Prius?

Also,a Shrader valve installed into the fuel cell cap would allow air pressure from a 12-VDC compressor to force the fuel out of the cell into the Prius tank.

I guess it's all academic. My wife won't let me install another gas tank, or even carry Jerry cans on the back. She fears explosion.
