Behold the 1933 Bugatti PLM.

Powered by 4 dry sump twin spark 8 cylinder engines with a displacement of 12,750 cubic centimeters each. The same engine powered the Bugatti Royale.

Light (at just 35 tonnes) and aerodynamical, it was capable of speeds up to 192 km/h but used huge amounts of gas, so the French railways repeat orders sported a setup with just 2 engines and more seats.

That's the demilitarized version--note the twin 75mm ATCs have their bores blocked.

You mean the elegant tusks? those were just sub machine guns compared to the cannon in the top.
A new approach to railways - passenger, meet your destination

What drew my attention was the brutal one directional approach, forcing the air up, then bending off, with straight sides.
A bullet nose, though harder to construct from sheet metal, would have been very much more aerodynamical, or so it seems - for the front end.
It goes both ways though; the sides are just tapered in slightly, ideal for when it is moving in the other direction?

Some radiussing on the front-to-sides and front-to-top junctions on that Bugatti and he would have had something.

I just watched ' (on Netflix)' which is the movie about the first electric motorcycle races on the Isle of Man, and I learned about Cedric Lynch; who invented the Agni electric motor. And he is an ecomodder at heart:

His electric streamliner can cruise at 60mph on ~1.2kW (~2HP) and has a 150 mile range. Cedric is the guy on the right with the bare feet:
