When I lowered my 91 with the Swift GT springs I removed the bump stops. To do it over I would have left about 3/4" at both ends.

Yet another observation from lowering
5) Because the Flea now has race car suspension, I may have glimpsed a dashboard light that I've never seen before!
I saw something come on briefly during a quick, sweeping corner. It was too brief to know what the light was, but it was near the fuel gauge, and the needle is currently near E.
I've never run this car out of fuel before, so I've never seen a low fuel light. But the owner's manual says the car "may" have one.

Sounds like the GM "low fuel" indicator used to alert the driver that soon they'll be walking...and...likely replacing the "in-tank" fuel pump which relies upon the fuel as coolant.

I know I don't have a warning light... But then again, I've never driven it that low either, It reads EMPTY @ 8 gallons, and its hard to gauge how much I have left after that, plus the cooling effect is needed... So I've always had an effective range of only 8gls... But I'm pretty sure I don't have an indication light.

While the tank is low, maybe I should just jack up the appropriate side and see if that reveals the mystery light.  |

I don't believe they have a low fuel light...unless it's something restricted to 98-up models. Maybe it was your oil light? Though you'd really have to be cornering hard to manage that...

In a Beetle, if a light comes on in a corner, it's the oil pressure warning light.
